The 13th Warrior (1999)

"13th Warrior" is based on "Eaters of the Dead" which is allegedly, a "playful version" of "Beowulf". Set in AD 922, an Arab, Ibn Fadlan, reluctantly accompanies the notorious Vikings on their Northern quests. Appalled by all that the Viking culture endorses, not until Ibn comes face to face with the "terror" that is the prospected demise of the Vikings, does he suddenly find himself fighting alongside a group of men with whom he never once dreamt of being affiliated. The cast includes: Antonio Banderas, Vladimir Kulich, Daniel Southern, Neil Maffin, Dennis Storhoi, Clive Russell, John DeSantis, Mischa Hausserman, and Oliver Sveinall.
