1984 (1984 - R) The film foresees the Apocalypse after the Atomic War divides the world into three states, one of which is Oceania. It's capital: London. In this decrepit and decaying city the Ministry of Truth controls the media while the Ministry of Love and its Thought Police work to eliminate 'thought crime.' One man, Winston Smith and his job for the Ministry of Truth's Records Department is literally rewriting history after discovering a 'conspiracy' within the Party. Deciding to go on his own personal journey of self-discovery, Smith is charged with 'thought crime' and finds himself suddenly watched by Anti Sex League Party member Julia. Discovering her to be on his side, the two embark on an illicit relationship which provokes Smith's deeper exploration of the Party’s records which leads him to the Inner Party. Meanwhile Big Brother is everywhere and the adventure is irreversible, inescapable, and interminable. Directed by: Michael Radford.
