Manager of Licoln International Airport Mel Bakersfield is determined to keep his airport operating despite the torrential Midwestern snowstorm heading his way. Ignoring his upset wife's concerns Mel charges ahead fighting the storm and his stubborn pilots. But when his brother-in-law Vernon Demerest plans a layover in Italy after receiving some unexpected news from Gwen Meighen thigns tunr interesting as Mel now finds himself fighting more than the storm of his life. In a day-to-day depiction of the events to follow, The Airport displays just how intense running an airport really can be, especially when criminals enter the picture.
