Altered States (1980 - R)

When an American research scientist begins his project on studying altered states of consciousness, he employs a sensory deprivation tank and hallucinogenic drugs to dig at deeper human "truths."  Of course, as the scientist digs deeper and deeper, things start to point to an evolutionary regression, and soon, get very out of hand.

The cast includes: William Hurt, Bob Balaban, Blair Brown, Thaao Penghlis, Charles Haid, Miguel Godreau, and Dori Brenner.
