An Affair to Remember (1957)

On a cruise from Europe to New York, playboy Nicky Ferrante (Cary Grant) and night club singer Terry McKay (Deborah Kerr) have a whirlwind romance on board the ship, despite the fact that both are engaged to be married to other people in New York. They make a pledge to each other to meet in 6 months at the top of the Empire State Building, and see if their deep feelings for each other really are true. Unfortunately, Terry has an accident and misses their rendez-vous. Will Nicky and Terry ever realize their feelings for each other, or will their love just be a memory?
