Anastasia (1956)

Tagline: "The most amazing conspiracy the world has ever known, and love as it never happened to a man and woman before!"

Storyline takes place just after World War 1. Three Russian exiles to Paris (Yul Brynner, Sacha Pitoeff, and Akim Tamiroff) with less than stellar character look for and find a beautiful amnesia victim, Anna Koreff,(Ingrid Bergman) among other Russian refugees to fit the bill for their scam in mind. Yul Brynner convinces Anna Koreff that she is one of Czar Nicholas II,'s daughters, Grand Duchess Anastasia. After grooming her, helping her to "remember," they present her as the real Anastasia, trying to get a hold of the money set aside for the Romanov children in the Bank of England. Everyone is convinced, even the three masterminds of this scam, who come to believe that she is really who they say she is. But, will Dowager Empress of Russia, (Helen Hayes), accept Ingrid as the Grand Duchess Anastasia?
