Paul Biegler seems to spend more time fishing than maintaining his practice after being voted out of his local prosecuting office. But when a hometown Army Lt is charged with murdering the man responsible for raping his wife, Biegler decides to take on the case. With an stubborn Lt, a transported judge from out of town, a tawdry wife, and a top-notch lawyer leading the prosecution, it seems Biegler might have bit off a little more than he was prepared to chew.
