The Apostle (1997) - PG13

Texan preacher Eulis 'Sonny' Dewey pacifies his time spreading the word of God and living out his days with his beautiful wife Jessie. But when 'Sonny' discovers his wife's sexual precociousness involving none other than a minister of God, 'Sonny' reacts by putting the minister in a coma and leaving town under the new name, 'Apostle E.F.'. Staking a new life for himself in Louisiana, E.F. begins working as a mechanic and then as a preacher for the local radio. But his zealous penchant for preaching doesn't stop there and soon he gets in cahoots with Reverend Blackwell and together the two men scheme a campaign to renovate an old church.
