Though the Newton family's comfortable lifestyle seems to outsiders as that of the "perfect life", there is something missing. Enter a stranded St. Bernard puppy that quickly earns the Newton's love and attention. With "Beethoven" as lovable as he is big in stature, the Newton family must fight to save him from the evil ploys of criminal Doctor Varnick who wants to perform horrible experiments on the latest family addition.
