New York TV reporter Bruce Nolan is a disgruntled man who constantly blames God every time something goes awry in his life. After what is possibly the worst day to date, he admonishes God with a slew of insults and ridicules until God appears in the guise of human form and challenges Bruce to do a better job than He. Suddenly bestowed with supernatural powers, the humor begins as the incompetent mortal implements his gift with the utmost childlike delight. Needless to say their will be some repercussions for his irresponsible actions.

The cast includes: Jim Carrey, Jennifer Aniston, Morgan Freeman, Catherine Bell, Philip Baker Hall, Lisa Ann Walter, Nora Dunn, and Steve Carell.
