Based on the equally haunting Stephen King novel, Carrie White is a socially inept girl whose brash upbringing is one of abuse, neglect, and repentance as ordered by her over-fanatical religious mother Margaret. A humiliating accident in the girl's locker room proves even more harmful to Carrie's reputation, leaving Miss Desjardin to reproach the girls, and ban the ringleader form prom. After one girl takes pity, she convinces her boyfriend to accompany Carrie to the senior prom. There however, the girl banned from the ceremonies has planned to further humiliate Carrie. But though socially inept, Carrie is a gifted girl in a paranormally scary way. As the straw breaks the camel's back, Carrie enlists her telekinetic powers and all hell breaks loose, literally!
