Based on the famous Greek myth of Perseus, the son of Zeus, the film depicts ancient Greece's hero Perseus and his attempt to rescue his love Andromeda. However, his quest will include several obstacles Zeus has prepared so as to test Perseus's merit. Along his journey Perseus must capture the mythical horse Pegasus, defeat the notorious Medusa, and slay the sinister Kraken.

The cast includes: Laurence Olivier, Judi Bowker, Harry Hamlin, Claire Bloom, Maggie Smith, Burgess Meredith, Ursula Andress, Flora Robson, and Sisan Phillips.
