When a businessman invests $200 million dollars in a project to research a cure for Alzheimer's, he employs medical biologist Dr. Susan McAlester to lead the way. As such, McAlester discovers a way to genetically manipulate shark's brains so that they become capable of producing cancer-battling enzymes apt for harvesting. But when the sharks start to become increasingly intelligent McAlester and crew soon discover that these voracious carnivores do not so much like being pent up in 'fish tanks' and made the focus of scientific experimentation. With increased intelligence and aggressiveness, these deadly 'projects' begin to look for a way out into the 'deep blue sea' at any cost…
