While canoeing down a river a quartet of city-bound friends unexpectedly bump into some less than cordial locals. With the threatening gorge blocking their escape and the locals closing in on the quartet, the four friends must fight for their lives and overcome immeasurable odds of man and nature.

The cast includes: Jon Voight, Ned Beatty, Burt Reynolds, Ronny Cox, Billy Redden, Ed Ramey, Seamon Glass, and Randall Deal.

DELIVERANCE was nominated for the Best Picture award.
