Dogtown (1998)

After bombing out in Hollywood, failed actor Philip (Trevor St. John) returns to his hometown, where he's greeted like a conquering hero. He takes advantage of his fame to woo his old sweetheart, Dorothy. But Dorothy lives a cheerless existence now and is stuck with her racist thug beau (Jon Favreau).

The cast includes: Rory Cochrane, David Shackelford, Trevor St. John, Mary Stuart Masterson, Price Carson, and Karen Black.
