The Doors (1991 - R) Stone plays homage to the 60's classic rock group "The Doors" in this film that doubles as rockography and biography for the band's late lead singer, Jim Morrison. The film depicts Morrison's travels from LA film student, to rock star stud, to his death in Paris, 1971- he was 27. Val Kilmer gives a stunning, authentic performance (he'll blow you away, really) as Morrison himself, for which he did most of his own singing. It's a tour de force and a film you won't forget! The cast includes: Meg Ryan, Val Kilmer, Michael Wincott, Kathleen Quinlan, Michael Madsen, Josh Evans, Dennis Burkley, Billy Idol, and Kevin Dillon. Directed by: Oliver Stone.
