Blanche is an imposter 'medium' and together she and her taxi-driving boyfriend George survive off their persuasive cons. When the two are hired by Julia Rainbird, an aging widow, to find her long lost nephew put up for adoption to cover up a family scandal, the two become caught up in a real life scandal that will bring them into contact with diamond merchant Arthur Adamson and girlfriend Fran, a devious couple allegedly cpnnected to a series of high profile kidnapping cases. But with the two con artists lacking the necessary credentials for the job, the plot smacks of mayhem as the two couples come closer to meeting one another's acquaintance and exposing the family plot.
