For Whom the Bell Tolls (1943)

With Spain in the midst of a civil war in the 1930's, Robert Jordan has teamed up with a side that represents the idealism of Hemingway and such. Eventually Jordan is assigned a daring mission up in the mountains where he is to blow a bridge located in a cave. A fortune-telling Pilar has foreseen the mission and encourages a young girl named Maria to join Jordan under the stars. Will Maria dupe Jordan's plans or will the two find their ways into each other's hearts?

The cast includes: Ingrid Bergman, Gary Cooper, Akim Tamiroff, Vladimir Sokoloff, Arturo de Cordova, Fortunio Bonanova, Mikhail Rasumny, and Joseph Calleia.
