Will Hunting is a janitor at MIT with an IQ that surpasses most of the students attending the prestigious university. With an uncanny knack for mathematics Will effortlessly solves a math problem written on the chalkboard in one of the rooms. After solving the problem and catching the attention of the professor, Will suddenly finds himself in a position to launch beyond his blue-collar days into a world of professional success. But pending certain psychological circumstances, Hunting is forced to attend weekly visits with a washed up shrink. While developing a relationship with what he deems to be a "quack doctor" and a lovely med student, Hunting is forced to make major life decisions that will affect not just his life, but of all those around him.
