Iris (2001 - R)

This biographical drama documents the life of renowned British philosopher and writer, Iris Murdoch.  Teaching philosophy at Oxford, the young Murdoch finds herself falling in love with the unlikely John Bayley.  A shift in perspective shows the rest of the film narrated through the eyes of her husband, who documents Iris' enigmatic personality one decade at a time.  As she dazzles and inspires, Iris makes a name for herself that will continue to shine, even as Alzheimer's threatens to consume the once brilliant British mind.

The cast includes: Kate Winslet, Jim Broadbent, Judi Dench, Hugh Bonneville, Penelope Wilton, Samuel West, and Eleanor Bron.
