In a South American prison, cellmates Luis Molina and Valentin Arregui find conflict in their personal lifestyles. The former is a homosexual, the latter is a political extremist. With the two trying to escape each other and their time in prison, Luis begins to invent romantic movies while Valentin focuses intently on improving his current situation. But with the company of only four walls and each other, it seems Luis and Valentin might finally learn to reconcile their differences and respect one another.

The cast includes: William Hurt, Sonia Braga, Raul Julia, Milton Goncalves, Jose Lewgoy, Miriam Pires, and Nuno Leal Maia.
