Laura (1944)

Detective Mark McPherson (Gene Tierney) investigates the mysterious killing of Laura, found dead in her apartment as the movie begins. McPherson reconstructs a psychological portrait of her from the suspects he interviews. A bewitching painting of the dead woman hangs on her apartment wall. Who could have wanted to kill a girl whom every man she met seemed to fall in love with? The mystery deepens as McPherson himself seems to fall under her spell. Late one night, in the middle of his investigations, a bizarre incident forces McPherson to re-think everything.
