The Majestic (2001) -

1950's script writer Peter Appleton is an alleged suspect in the era's Communist conspiracy. Although untrue, suddenly Appleton get in a freak car accident, is left an amnesiac, and winds up in a small town in California. Residing in the old rundown Majestic, Peter begins to resurrect the theatre with the help of some locals. Nearly content, the communist-hunters locate Appleton and force him to testify before the Senate. But with Peter's condition as an amnesiac, will he be able to evade a sentence, or only get himself into more trouble? The cast includes: Jim Carrey, Jeffrey DeMunn, Bob Balaban, Laurie Holden, Hal Holbrook, Martin Landau, Ron Rifkin, and Brent Briscoe. Directed by: Frank Daranbont.
