Mississippi Burning (1988) - R

The setting is a small Southern town in the 1960's during the civil rights movement. When two FBI agents investigate the murder of a civil rights worker they are faced with more than the adversity of the case, but of the town's philosophy on black and white, and the influence of small-town ways former partner/Sheriff trying to get in the way of the agents endeavor.

The cast includes: Gene Hackman, Frances McDormand, Willem Dafoe, Brad Dourif, R. Lee Erney, Gailard Sartain, and Stephen Tobolowsky.

MISSISSIPPI BURNING was nominated for the Best Picture award.
