Mister Roberts is tired of his dull life aboard his quiet Navy cargo ship stationed in the Pacific. It's WW2 and Roberts wants some action but his tyrannical boss refuses to sign his transfer papers. With Roberts left to the stagnant ways of the quiet life he suddenly finds action amongst his crew members who just can't seem to stop arguing.

The cast includes: Henry Fonda, William Powell, James Cagney, Jack Lemmon, Ward Bond, Betsy Palmer, Philip Carey, and Perry Lopez.
