Papillon (1973)

Based on the controversial autobiography of small-time thief Henri "Papillon" Charriere, Papillon depicts his odyssey in a French penal colony after his conviction for a murder he didn't commit. Bent on escape, Papillon (Steve McQueen) forges an alliance with counterfeiter Louis Dega (Dustin Hoffman) and the two of them go for broke in a daring plot that takes them through a leper colony and ultimately over the rocky cliffs of Devil's Island.

The cast includes: Steve McQueen, Dustin Hoffman, Woodrow Parfrey, William Smithers, and Val Avery.
