Pleasantville (1998) - PG13

1950's sitcom Pleasantville is a means for escape from David's single, lonely life. After his TV breaks he gets in a fight with his sexually aggressive sister Jennifer over a precarious remote control given to them by an equally odd TV repair man. Suddenly David and Jennifer are in Pleasantville starring as Bud and Mary-Sue Parker, complete with the fashion and black-and-white textures of the 50's TV show, and a new set of sitcom parents. With David trying to blend in while while looking for a way out of their TV land dimension , Jennifer ardently insists on doing her own thing, despite the culture clash. But when a "red" rose suddenly blooms in Pleasantville, people all over town are finding themselves compelled to "break the rules" of conformity, with color poppiung up all over Pleasantville, USA.
