The Private Life of Henry VIII (1933)

The film attempts to depict King Henry VIII's relation with the last five of his six wives, beginning just prior to the tragic death of his second, Anne Boleyn. The film is set almost entirely in the royal castle and casually integrates the new wives into the picture. The film concludes after the wedding ceremony to his final wife, Katherine Parr.

The cast includes: Charles Laughton, Robert Donat, Miles Mander, Franklin Dyall, William Austin, John Loder, Laurence Hanray, and Claud Allister.

THE PRIVATE LIFE OF HENRY VIII was nominated for the 1933 Best Picture award.

Directed by: Alexander Korda.
