While rambling from town to town to visit old war buddies, Vietnam Vet John Rambo is arrested for vagrancy by a small town sheriff. Once in jail he is continually harassed which provokes Rambo to utilize his fighting skills. Now free, Rambo heads to the forest where he is in hot pursuit by the town's officials. Meanwhile, Rambo's former commander, Colonel Trautman, enters the picture possessing information that might further complicate matters for John Rambo if the harassing officials refuse to let up their pursuit.

The cast includes: Sylvester Stallone, Brian Dennehy, Richard Crenna, Bill McKinney, Jack Starrett, Michael Talbott, and Chris Mulkey.
