Ran (1985) - R

An adaptation of Shakespeare's infamous King Lear, "Ran" is a story about an aging warlord and the trials and tribulations his family undergoes after he decides to divide his kingdom's power into three sections, abdicating each of his three sons to a section of the kingdom. With the two eldest sons happily content with their new and powerful acquisitions, it is only a matter of time before his youngest son's ill-fated predictions become a reality.

The cast includes: Tatsuya Nakadai, Daisuke Ryu, Jinpachi Nezu, Akira Terao, Hisashi Igawa, Peter Masayuki Yui, and Mieko Harada.
