The setting is post WWI in Britain where a man of servitude and honor, headbutler Steven's ethics are challenged when a female housekeeper arrives and decides to make him her object of affection. Furthermore Stevens discovers his master maybe in close ties with the Nazi regime. Battling several moral battles it appears Stevens dedication to servitude may suddenly do an about face.
