The Right Stuff (1983 - PG)

An adaptation of Tom Wolfe's non-fiction novel, "The Right Stuff" tells of the U.S. Space program's endeavors, from Chuck Yeager's breaking the sound barrier to the Mercury 7 astronauts- all the while unveiling that perhaps the program wasn't as knowledgeable as they seemed. The film is thrilling, charming, exciting, and comical all at once.

Cast includes: Scott Glenn, Sam Shepard, Ed Harris, Fred Ward, Dennis Quaid, Barbara Hershey, Veronica Cartwright, Kim Stanley, Scott Paulin, and Pamela Reed.

THE RIGHT STUFF was nominated for the Best Picture award.
