Saturday Night Fever (1977)

A cultural flashpoint that sparked the disco craze, Saturday Night Fever chronicles the days and nights of 19-year-old Tony Manero (John Travolta) -- a paint store clerk by day, and a dance-floor sensation by night, a polyester-clad whirlwind together with his partner Stephanie (Karen Lynn Gorney), the two of them gyrating at the center of a storm of glitter and anonymous sex. The Bee Gees soundtrack and Travolta's charismatic strutting made this movie an explosive success.
