Separate Tables (1958)

Life at the sleepy Beauregard Hotel is suddenly stirred awake by the unexpected company of the beautiful Ann Shankland, who's come to see her (alcoholic) ex-husband John Malcolm who is, coincidentally, secretly engaged to hotel owner Pat Cooper. Meanwhile a second plot develops as the snooty Mrs. Railton-Bell detects false play on behalf of Major Pollock- which is sure to be bad news for her daughter Sibyl, who is secretly smitten over the Major.

The cast includes: Deborah Kerr, Rita Hayworth, David Niven, Burt Lancaster, Wendy Hiller, Cathleen Nesbitt, Gladys Cooper, and Felix Aylmer.

SEPARATE TABLES was nominated for the Best Picture award.
