Seven Days in May (1964)

When the U.S. President manages to sneak a nuclear disarmament treaty past the Senate he suddenly finds his popularity waning. Meanwhile, Marine Colonel Jiggs Casey discovers that the debonair General Scott, uber popular head of the Joint Chiefs, is not planning on waiting the 2 years for his potential Presidential candidacy to afford the opportunity to move in- he intends to act NOW. But when Jiggs Casey approaches the President with the news of a possible inside political conspiracy mayhem ensues with each side skeptical of the other and a desperate President struggling to gain back the confidence of his nation.
