After racial criminal Wade evades conviction for his racial-slaying two years previous, he returns from Switzerland to face trial. Meanwhile detective Shaft is out searching for the sole eyewitness to the murder, whom, it seems, may be in grave danger from Wade and kingpin Peoples Hernadez who want to silence her for good. With time working against the detective, Shaft must find the witness and convince her to testify to bring down Wade, despite the danger she may 'voluntarily' encounter.
