Soylent Green (1973 - PG)

Set in 2022, the film envisions an Earth plagued with problems of overpopulation, global warming, exhausted food and fuel supplies, and a corrupt government. Since most, or all, natural food sources are "extinct" the only way people are managing to survive is by eating a mysterious government endorsed substance called "Soylent." But when a detective investigates the murder of Soylent Co. president, the truths he finds, particularly that of the ingredients contained in "Soylent Green" are more disturbing than Earth's current turmoil.

The cast includes: Charlton Heston, Joseph Cotten, Chuck Connors, Leigh Taylor-Young, Brock Peters, Paula Kelly, Stephen Young, and Edward G. Robinson.
