Born and raised a slave, Thracian Spartacus is both rebellious and vengeful. After being sold to Gladiator trainer Batiatus and trained as a killer fighter, Spartacus rallies the slaves and leads them in rebellion against their owners. Ex-slaves eager to join in the conquest strengthen the numbers of Spartacus's clan as they move from town to town.. With Spartacus leading the way home to freedom, Roman senators Gracchus and Crassus are each devising ways to inherit Spartacus's crew so as to use them against the other in an effort to gain total power over the empire. With tricks and manipulation up their sleeves, Gracchus and Crassus work to win the ways of Spartacus and his slaves as they try to push onward toward their only desire, freedom.
