Sphere (1998)

A mysterious spacecraft, apparently from the future, has come to rest on the bottom of the sea. A team of scientists (led by Dustin Hoffman) comes to investigate. Soon they discover a mysterious sphere inside the spacecraft, and it isn't long before they begin receiving messages from the sphere, not all of which are friendly. Bizarre phenomena ensue, and the team finds itself in mortal peril. Based on the Michael Crichton novel.

The cast includes: Dustin Hoffman, Samuel L. Jackson, Sharon Stone, Peter Coyote, Queen Latifah, and Huey Lewis.
