John convinces Russell to join the Army so the two can find the motivation to get back in shape. But their introduction to boot camp has the two rethinking their leisurely opinion about their stay at Day-Spa Army. After John's confrontation with his Sgt. he ironically becomes the leader of his platoon composed of misfits like himself. Somehow managing to graduate, Russell and John are sent on a special assignment. But when John’s interest in an MPO causes their men trouble behind the Iron Curtain, its up to Russell, John, their dates, and an irritated Sgt. to rescue the platoon in a fanfare style only a misfit duo could muster.
