The black sheep of the family, Egbert Souse's luck is on the rise when he is recruited to serve as the guard of Lompoc Bank after purportedly capturing a bank robber. While at Lompoc, Souse finds himself working with, ironically enough, his daughter's fiancée and teller, Og Oggilby. Eventually Souse persuaded Oggilby to pocket five hundred dollars to invest in bogus stock. Their plan seems to work until the bank examiner shows up and Souse is forced to try to avert his attention for several days.

The cast includes: Cora Witherspoon, W.C. Fields, Una Merkel, Evelyn Del Rio Jessie Ralph, Dick Purcell, Grady Sutton, Pierre Watkin, Franklin Pangborn, and Shemp Howard.
