The Incredible Shrinking Woman (1981)

Exposure to a a fantastical brew of household chemicals leads to ever-shrinking size and ever-growing fame for suburban housewife Pat Kramer (Lily Tomlin). While baffled scientists and her incredulous family look on, Pat eventually stands only a foot tall -- and attracts the attention of another, more sinister group of scientists, who kidnap her and plan to use her in their quest to shrink everyone else in the world. Fortunately a good-hearted lab custodian and a genetically-engineered genius gorilla help Pat escape, and eventually she returns to normal size.
