The Little Princess (1939 - G)

Set in Victorian England, when Sara Crewe's widowed father is sent to serve in the Boer War, Sara desperately awaits news from the service about her father.  When she receives news that he’s dead, however, the headmistress at her school decides to take advantage of the situation, turning Sara into a servant.  Suffering the humility, Sara lives out
her "sentence" in dignity, that is, until her father returns (from the dead)!
