Legend has it that many years ago a group of monks constructed a great bell out of pure gold to be three times the size of man. They called her "The Mother of Voices". When wind of the legend, told by marketplace Viking Rolphe, makes its way to Islamic ruler Aly Manush, he demands Rolphe unveil the location of the bell. After Rolphe escapes to his homeland he implores the help of his father and brother to help him replace his lost crew and steal the Death Ship, property of the King, in order to find the bell before the criminal pursuers can.

The cast includes: Sidney Poitier, Russ Tamblyn, Richard Widmark, Rosanna Schiafanno, Edward Judd, Oskar Homolka, Lionel Jeffries, and Jeanne Moody.
