Thorn Birds (1983)

This saga-esque mini focuses on a 60-year span in the Cleary family, who has migrated from New Zealand to Australia to run their Aunt Mary's ranch. The film primarily focuses on their daughter, Meggie; her love for family priest, Father Ralph de Bricassart; and her attempt to forget that love by marrying stockman Luke O'Neill. Of course destiny strikes and tragic consequences are to follow.
