THX-1138 (1971)

Director George Lucas remade his own award-winning college short film with Robert Duvall playing the lead as THX 1138, who lives in a dystopian future where people have been stripped of individuality, drugs are used by the government for mind control, and sexual relations are illegal. When THX 1138 and LUH 3417 (Maggie McOmie) rebel by falling in love, she ends up pregnant and he ends up in jail. Only fellow inmate Donald Pleasence can aid THX in his escape and eventual reuniting with LUH.
