After a series of jewelry robberies occur on the French Riviera police call into suspect retired thief extraordinaire John Robbie, formerly known as "The Cat" of the Riviera. To prove his innocence Robbie enlists the help of an insurance realtor to try to guess where the real thief will next strike. During the hunt for the thief Robbie befriends aristocratic Jessie Stevens and her beautiful daughter Frances who also help to find the real thief after initially believing it to be Robbie himself.

The cast includes: Cary Grant, Grace Kelly, John Williams, Jessie Royce Landis, Charles Vanel, and Brigitte Auber.
