U.S. hotshot Pilot Maverick is invited to attend the Top Gun Naval Flying School after a heroic act to save his wingman. While there he struggles with the competition of his fellow pilots, his emotions for his senior flight instructor, and rumors about his father's death, all while trying to be the best pilot in the school.
