The Towering Inferno (1974)

Roug Roberts returns home from vacation to survey progress on his recent skyscraper. Unfortunately, though nearly done, Roberts is concerned that the building isn't wholly "up to snuff" with code. As luck has it, a fire breaks out leaving Fire Chief Michael O'Halleran and his crew to rescue both building and bodies amidst the blazing inferno.

The cast includes: Steve McQueen, William Holden, Fred Astaire, Faye Dunaway, Paul Newman, Susan Blakeley, Richard Chamberlain, and O.J. Simpson.

THE TOWERING INFERNO was nominated for the Best Picture award.
