THE BLUES BROTHERS (1980) On a "mission from God" the Blues Brothers, ex-convict Jake Blues and his brother Elwood Blues, head to their old hometown, paying a visit to the former convent of thier childhood. Discovering the convent to be in a dire financial situation, the Blues Brothers decide to help by staging a big charity concert in hopes the proceeds will be enough to keep the convent from closing down by the end of the 11-day deadline. The cast includes: Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, John Candy, Carrie Fisher, Henry Gibson, and Steve Lawrence. The blues music and comedy masterpiece was directed by John Landis.
